February 2023 — Cicero Social Impact published student efficacy data that indicate that Texas College Bridge (TCB), a college readiness program established in 2020, is effectively preparing academically at-risk high school students to succeed in entry-level math and English coursework and persist in their studies.

Texas College Bridge is a personalized, self-paced college math and English readiness program powered by EdReady. Students who successfully complete the Texas College Bridge program earn a TSIA (Texas Success Initiative Assessment) exemption accepted at nearly 60 partnering colleges and universities across the state. The exemption allows students to immediately enroll in credit-bearing courses without having to take a high-stakes placement test.

Jacksonville State University was the first institution to partner with NROC to utilize EdReady as a low-stakes placement tool, designed to replace high-stakes testing and dramatically reduce the number of students required to take developmental math courses.

CSU Long Beach used EdReady, an adaptive learning platform, to successfully enhance prospective (pre-service) and practicing (in-service) secondary mathematics teachers' content and pedagogical knowledge, as well as their understanding of how digital resources can support student learning.

In a recently published research brief, the Center for the Analysis of Postsecondary Readiness (CAPR) detailed Ivy Tech Community College's rapid scaling of EdReady to support the state's multiple measures assessment. The singly accredited community college in the state of Indiana (45 campuses and sites) is effectively utilizing NROC's adaptive, personalized learning tool in lieu of a high-stakes placement exam.

In Summer 2021, the University of California, Merced (UCM) implemented a pilot program called “Summer Edge” to try out a new model for college readiness preparation for incoming first-year students. Students who signed up to participate in the program did not earn undergraduate credit. Their primary incentive for completing the pilot was to improve their knowledge and be more prepared for their college-level pre-calculus class. They were also given the option to retake the UCM math placement exam so that they could place into calculus.

Ivy Tech Community College, the nation’s largest singly accredited statewide community college system, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, was awarded the inaugural Council on Accreditation of Two-Year Colleges (CATYC) Innovation Award for their Knowledge Assessment Initiative, powered by EdReady.

In the first semester of the pilot, only half of the traditional classroom students passed the common assessment, while nearly all of the students in the hybrid class passed the same exam.

Nevada State College implemented EdReady as an initial placement diagnostic and as an independent-study remediation option for students to use before they arrived on campus. The placement of new students into college-level math courses increased from 24% to 42%.

South Plains College worked with students in an English intervention course called NCBI-0100 (Non-Credit-Based Integrated Reading and Writing). The course used EdReady to help students quickly remediate their English reading, writing, and grammar skills. The students, whose EdReady initial diagnostic scores ranged from 37 through 54 (out of 100) earned an average score gain of 49 points in 24 days or fewer.

The University of Hawai'i Manoa’s Online Learning Academy partnered with local Waipahu High School’s Early College program to offer EdReady as an independent study option. The Early College program allows students to save time and money by taking courses for college credit while still enrolled in high school. The initiative targeted students with low Compass scores. Using EdReady for either three weeks of independent summer study, or nine weeks of independent study during a regular semester, 66% of the students earned Compass exam scores that placed them into college-level math—only 45% of students were placed into college-level math the previous year.
